Avid 00.5315.006.000 Review: Avid Matchmaker Bicycle Shifter/Brake Adapter Set. One of the clamps broke off when I put my bike in the back of a VW golf. This was on my first ride. No crashes, no impacts, just the padded back seat of a car. Why did this happen? The clamps are sculpted away to lower weight and to look cool I guess. Combine that design with the inferior materials used to make this product, and you end up with a weak clamp- so weak that when you pull on a derailleur cable the metal just snaps. Can ...
